$ 20.26

Description Hardly is there a flower that evokes a sense of the tropical more than the passionflowers. Passiflora ‘Lady Margaret’ is a show-stopper with rich raspberry-red flowers adorned with a ring of red filaments with white tips and a white centre for stunning contrast. This cultivar is a hybrid between P. coccinea and P. incarnata. A vigorous evergreen climber easily reaching six to 30 feet, though not as tall in a container. If you try this outside in coastal BC, bury the stem a good six inches below soil level for more hardiness and choose a warm microclimate up against the house. Plants bloom on new wood and branches that droop are more inclined to flower. Does not produce edible fruit. Protect from winter cold and wet. Can be grown as a houseplant. To control size, prune hard in spring to refresh plants. Use on trellises or arbors, in cottage or Mediterranean gardens and in containers. A butterfly magnet.
