Description Eucomis ‘Dark Star’ is a dwarf pineapple lily with burgundy red, heavily speckled foliage topped with burgundy, pineapple-like flower stems in late summer. Though likely a hybrid, the rare, dwarf E. vandermerwei is definitely involved in the parentage. Looks fantastic planted with gold foliage such as Heuchera ‘Lime Marmalade’ or Veronica ‘Aztec Gold’ or scotch moss. Very easy to grow and tolerates a wide range of garden conditions. Full sun for best foliage colour. Grow in containers or the ground. In colder climates bring plants indoors for winter and keep just above freezing. Deer and rabbit resistant.
