Drimys lanceolata – Mountain Pepper – Winteraceae (The Winter’s Bark Family)

Availability:

$ 17.10

Description Drimys lanceolata is a true aristocrat of the garden known as mountain pepper. This refined, evergreen, broadleaf shrub is a great specimen for mild climate gardens. Creamy yellow-green perfumed blossoms result in glistening black fruit in autumn. The distinctive foliage, oval in shape and a deep green, is held along beautiful, red, young stems that glow when the light shines through them. In colder climates it is well worth growing in a pot and protecting in winter from frost. Now known scientifically as Tasmannia lanceolata.
