Description Angel’s fishing rods are stunning, long-lived perennials with thin, arching stems that produce showers of pendulous bells that will sway in the slightest breeze. ‘Blackberry Bells’ is a vigorous hybrid involving Dierama pulcherrimum and D. robustum with large, flared, deep purple-maroon to magenta bells on very tall, springy stems to four feet high. The foliage is narrow and grass- or iris-like. Beautiful on the edge, corner or possibly at a turning point in a path so you can stop and stare! Likes a sunny spot with good drainage and extra summer moisture. Somewhat slow to bulk up but your patience will be rewarded.
