Description ‘Whirlwind’ is an award-winning Japanese anmeone that offers pure white, semi-double flowers up to 4 inches wide that are lightly ruffled and crowned with golden stamens. It is a taller variety that sways gently in the breeze on its 3-4 foot tall stems with a compact, neat, mounding habit and dark green foliage. Perfect for the mid to back of the border and in the vase. Blooms from mid to late summer until frost making it a staple for the late season garden. Foliage is a great cover for spring bulbs. Prefers humus rich, moist soil in part sun. Mainly clumping and non-invasive. Deer and rabbit resistant.
