Cordyline indivisa – Mountain Cabbage Palm – Asparagaceae (The Asparagus Family)

Availability:

$ 32.93

Description Cordyline indivisa is a stunning and stately New Zealand endemic known as mountain cabbage palm. It is related to C. australis, the common “spike” or “draceana” of mixed annual containers, but this has much broader green-grey leaves with an orange stripe down the middles. Plants can develop a trunk over time and grow into incredible specimens for focal points in the garden. It is slightly more cold tolerant than C. australis but requires excellent drainage so plant in a chunky mix. Hardy to zone 9, possibly zone 8, but it is best grown in containers and protected in winter, even on the West Coast. Deer resistant.
