Arctostaphylos densiflora ‘Austin Griffiths’ – Manzanita – Ericaceae (The Heath Family)

Availability:

$ 15.20

Description Arctostaphylos densiflora ‘Austin Griffiths’ has copious clusters of pink flowers in the winter with sage green evergreen foliage. It can grow up to nine feet high and seven feet wide in six years. It is fast-growing and well-suited for dry, sunny, well-drained sites. Due to its winter blooms, Anna’s hummingbirds will flock to this shrub to feast on the nectar-laden flowers. The bark is a smooth, ruddy red and provides a gorgeous contrast to the sage green foliage. Manzanitas are arbutus relatives native to the west coast of North America from BC to California. The many upright shrubby species often have gorgeous bark and evergreen foliage that give them the look of an arbutus in shrub form.
