Description Anaphalis margaritacea, the pearly everlasting, has crisp papery white flowers useful for dried flower arrangements. It blooms in the garden over a long period in summer and fall and can be used in borders, dry gardens, and native plantings where its silvery foliage will contrast well with its neighbours. The whole plant can be used for dyes or as incense, and it has been used as medicine in the past. It is a BC native plant that is also found across North America and Asia. Plants will spread rhizomatously into ever expanding colonies at a slow to moderate rate. Popular with butterflies for nectar and as a larval host for the caterpillars of some butterfly species.
