Description Cestrum nocturnum is an intensely fragrant, night-blooming jasmine or lady of the night. Widely used as an ornamental around the world, mature plants can reach from 3 to 13 feet tall and wide in an upright, spreading or scrambling habit. A continuous profusion of tubular, 1 inch long, creamy white to pale green flowers bloom in terminal panicles followed by long, oblong white berries. Be aware that the fruits and leaves of this species are know to be poisonous. Flowers open at night and are extremely fragrant. Slender and arching branches are clothed in oblong, 2-6″ long evergreen leaves. Easy-care and takes well to pruning. Provide a structure for vertical support. Requires well drained soil in full to part sun. Ideal as a container planting where it may be placed by an entryway, patio or other location where the fragrance can be enjoyed and then brought indoors to overwinter. Attracts moths and other night-flying insects.
