Asclepias fascicularis – Narrow-leaf Milkweed – Apocynaceae (The Dogbane Family)

Availability:

$ 17.10

Description Asclepias fascicularis has a delicate appearance that belies its tough nature. The two foot stems have long, narrow leaves with upward-curved margins. The intricate flowers are pale pink and white, attracting bees and butterflies. Narrow-leaf milkweed or Mexican whorled milkweed is a host plant for the western migration of the monarch butterfly. Plant them in your garden to encourage the monarchs to come to BC, where they have been known to visit in warm summers. Native to the western US and a near-native to BC reaching as far north as central Washington.
