Artemisia frigida – Prairie Sagewort – Asteraceae (The Asteraceae Family)

Availability:

$ 7.60

Description Artemisia frigida is a low-growing, tufted prairie sagewort valued for its aromatic, camphor-scented, silver-white, textural foliage. Growing erect and mounding, the plant can reach 9-16 inches tall in gardens. Its deeply cut, silky-haired, finely divided leaves give a feathery look and sharp colour contrast in the dry garden. In summer, it produces small, nodding clusters of yellow flowers. A great selection for areas with poor, dry soils. Avoid moist soils. A. frigida is a wind-pollinated species, though its flowers are visited by native bees. Photo credit: Wikipedia.
