Description Vaccinium vitis-idaea ‘Koralle’ is a commercial lingonberry developed in Germany that produces excellent crops of tasty fruit on little evergreen shrubs that are very strong, very compact, and very hardy. Plants will reach about 12 inches tall and wide. Use the tasty, tart berries for jams, pies and other treats. White flowers appear in late spring followed by the red berries that can stay on the shrub over winter. Awesome as a ground cover and in a container for ornamental purposes. Lingonberries are popular wild harvested fruits in Scandinavia and Newfoundland where they are called partridgeberries.
