$ 12.66

Description Tulbaghia violacea, commonly called society garlic, is a heat-loving perennial native to southern Africa prized for its long-lasting lilac-pink blooms and slender green leaves with a distinctive garlic scent when crushed. Flowering from early summer through fall, this resilient yet graceful plant thrives in sunny borders, rock gardens, pathways, water-wise landscapes, and containers. Its edible flowers and leaves impart a mild garlic-onion flavor to culinary dishes. Despite its delicate look, it is highly durable, tolerant of drought, heat, and moderate salinity. In colder climates, it can be overwintered indoors as a houseplant. Attracts hummingbirds and other pollinators. Deer resistant.
